Henry is totally into jokes right now.  I think he has a bit of Grandpa Dave's sense of humor and ability to notice the peculiar qualities of words.  I'm glad to see this trait staying in the family!  Henry has been coming up with several puns of his own.  For example:

What happened to the computer when it jumped off the diving board?

It got "synched!"

What did the clam think he had when he felt itchy?

"Mollusk-um!"

How do you smile when you're not smiling?

Stop not-smiling!

The Crazy-Abouts

Were you wondering what Ellis is crazy about right now?

GAMES!  He can't get enough of them!  He wants to play games and more games and more games, almost always with a parent.  Occasionally, He'll settle for Henry as a partner, or he'll play by himself.  His favorites rotate a lot, but recently he has been enjoying Disney Rummikub, Guess Who?, Memory, and Snack Attack.  He also likes to use the game pieces to set up unique configurations.  In the picture above, you can see the Disney characters at a soccer stadium, with the Cheshire Cat and Fairy Godmother as the goals.  In the picture above, you can also see what happens to Ellis' hair when it goes a few weeks beyond needing a cut - CURL!

Were you wondering what Henry is crazy about right now?

THE ORIENTAL TRADING CATALOG!!!  Now that we've ordered online from Oriental Trading at least twice, they are sure to send us a catalog at least once every two weeks.  You never know when you might need 8 dozen rubber duckies (for only $8.99!) or 300 dinosaur erasers (only $6.00!).  This kind of information absolutely THRILLS Henry.  When a new catalog comes, he considers it to be the best part of his day!  He then pores over it and tells me about all the good deals.  I think he also has about 10 new ideas for his next birthday party.  

Were you wondering what Sam is crazy about right now?  

GHNKNG.  That's Sam language for "drink," which means his little cup of milk.  He didn't like it at first, but now he asks for it a hundred times a day.  I think part of it is the thrill of being able to ask for something and then actually get what he asked for.  But he's drinking a bunch, and I'm hopeful that we are reaching the last few weeks of nursing.

A Few Treasures

We've been saving up Henry and Ellis quotes for a few months.  We thought we'd better share a few treasures.  Enjoy!

Henry
(to Jenn) "From now on, if you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone--Okay?"

"Me and Ellis both have the same plan . . . to DESTROY our parents!"

"Sometimes I go in the bathroom, take some extra toilet paper and chew it up."

(after watching a homemade Star Wars YouTube video) "I never knew light sabers were real until I saw that show."

B: Did Mom already get clothes out for you?
H: No.  Well, actually I'm not sure.  It's still just a theory.

(opening some chap stick he found in his stocking) "Lip Smackers!  Ha ha!  Santa got me pretend lip stick!"

(while sorting laundry)
J:  We're gonna put this one in the pile to be sprayed.
E:  Oh yeah, from Dad being such a dirty guy.

"I'm gonna give Sam a blessing: 'Behold, be careful Samuel, and don't break the walls!'"

(looking at a picture of Adam Smith addressing some economists--don't ask) "When is Adam Smith going to say 'In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen' and sit down so somebody else can talk in the microphone?"

(authoritatively) "It is proposed that we sustain Elder Einstein, Charles Darwin, Isaac Newton, and Nikola Tesla.  Please manifest it."

J: Ellis, who is the President right now?
E: Barack Obama!  Who is going to be the President-right-now next?
J: I don't know; what do you think?
E: Maybe Tanner.  But not the Utah Tanner.  Eldon S. Tanner (We later found out he was getting N. Eldon Tanner confused with Marion G. Romney, whom he had mixed up with Mitt Romney).
(a few minutes later) E: A golden pancake is going to be the prophet after Joseph Smith.

"I can't sit in my car seat, because I can't sit very well . . . like Elder Packer" (he couldn't sit very well because he had a dirty diaper).

(Jenn passes gas)
E: Say excuse me!
J:  Excuse me.
E: (wistfully) I hope I do that soon.

(after Ben's shower) "It's foggy in here.  We need Rudolph!"

Remember when Ellis would make us all have alternative identities?  Thankfully, that has subsided, but he does occasionally have some relapses.  Here are two especially unique ones:

- Clark (E), Lewis (B), Sacajawea (J)

And finally, Ellis still has a few words that he has no idea he pronounces wrong:
- Stop and Shot (Stop & Shop)
- Two-fick (Toothpick)
- Two-faced (Toohpaste)
- Episote (Episode -- Henry says this one wrong too!)
- E-merican Flag (American Flag -- where did the E come from?  We have no idea.  He says America just fine)
- Of-ouncements (Announcements)
