Latergrams (this feels like a really long time ago)

Henry is excited to bring his 162 Box Tops to school today!  But will it be enough to help his class win the ice cream party???

Grateful today for a little positive peer pressure.  Bryson got Henry and Ellis to sled down the really steep hill with jumps!  #BFFs

This was the hill.  Other parents were telling their kids it was "too dangerous" and "really bumpy," as they watched our boys with gasps of trepidation.  They must have never seen a real sledding hill.  #newenglandparents #aweebitcautious

Hanover, New Hampshire just might be the closest thing to a perfect town that I have ever seen.  Even charming (and alluring) on a frigid winter day.

A job offer from Dartmouth calls for a celebration of epic proportion. How about those Reese's peanut butter cup S'mores bars on Pinterest?  Yes, that will do nicely.  #ridiculouslydelicious #thankyouthankyou #happyday

I forgot to mention that there is also an offer from London Business School!  My 20-year-old-study-abroad-self is jumping for joy.  My 30-year-old-mom-of-three self is feeling pretty conflicted.  #firstworldproblems

Story hour with Ben.  Exactly what he wanted to do 45 minutes after getting home from his last interview trip!  #babysittingcoop #curiousgeorge

This is how we roll.  #thankyousam

This is what my brain feels like today after thinking way too much about Chicago.  Mad at Ben for getting a job offer from Kellogg (Northwestern) after my heart was already set on Dartmouth.  #ontheverge #nervousbreakdown

Did I mention that many tears have been shed over the projected loss of my dream life in Hanover?  #houseonahill #mylifewasadreambutnowitisover #depthsofdespair

As promised, the "Where should we live?" spreadsheet, courtesy of Ben.

And the "Visualize life in two different places" list, courtesy of me.  And there is no clear winner.  #timeforthetemple

Last snowman of the year?  I personally am glad to see one last snowfall . . . as long as it really is the last!

Hot cocoa for all!  #thisisthelife #iheartsnowdays

After I took that last picture, Sam said, "Take a pickcha Sam!" and then he made this cheesy face.

I overheard, "Oh, I DEFINITELY want the Bag O' Roaches!" and then found Henry writing check marks on everything he wants from the Oriental Trading catalogue, which is almost everything. #aboywithaplan

Sometimes . . . I open the pantry and find Chester Arthur staring up at me.  #presidentsforbreakfast

Not quite Giordano's, but pretty darn good for a celebration dinner.  We have finally decided!

It's not every day you get a package from the BYU Bookstore with presents inside for the whole family!  I guess they have already forgiven Ben for turning down their offer on Friday.  Already wooing for next round?

Cougar Pride for all, courtesy of the finance department.  #thanksbyufinance #futurecougars?

In case you are still in suspense . . .

Ben accepted a job at . . .
The Kellogg School of Management
at Northwestern University

in Chicago, IL (well, technically Evanston, IL, but you get the picture)!!!

Sorry it took me so long to come out and say it.  I think I was in denial for a little while, or got tired of explaining it, or took a long time trying to get over the dream life of Hanover, New Hampshire.  I think the big adjustment for me was mentally recognizing that, instead of choosing a major destination, we are making one more pit stop on the way to the real destination.  I feel like I've finished a really long novel and suddenly the ending came and it said, "to be continued . . ." because we STILL don't know where we're going to live and buy a house!  But, we know where we're going at the end of June.  And it's Chicago.
