Did you know that the second most common playground accident occurs when a toddler goes down a slide on someone's lap? Their little feet can get caught between the adult's leg and the edge of the slide, and the momentum of the ride down the slide (and a rubber-soled shoe rubbing against the edge) can twist the foot or leg and often cause a break. Apparently it happens all the time!
We had no idea until such scenario happened to our little Sam, as he was riding on the lap of an un-named adult.

Poor little boy wouldn't put any weight on his foot.

And he got a pretty cool cast, in honor of his patriotic brother [the cast technician asked me if we had a relative in the military].
Isn't he just the cutest little cripple you've ever seen?
Awww...
The cast didn't slow him down too much. He found some sitting activities to do for the first few days . . .

And soon enough, he was walking on it.

Then yesterday he got it off! Only two weeks later!

He kind of wanted to put it back on. He was just getting used to it!
Ben is disappointed that we won't have a "Tiny Tim" for Christmas after all. He was just teaching Sam to say, "God bless us, everyone!"

That is so cute...and so sad! I am glad he is better already! What a sweet little guy.
Oh Sad! I'm glad he healed so quickly. I feel bad for the un-named adult too.
Oh man! Who knew! Poor little guy, but at least he's back on his feet now.
Eric and I are dying laughing at that last comment, that's hilarious Ben! And what a cute boy you have. Also I love all the instagram pics!
