(Jenn) I was afraid we weren't going to get to go apple picking this year due to our fear of taking two kids on such an adventurous outing. But yesterday was just too perfect. Autumn spoke to us and we simply had to answer! And apple picking seemed the perfect outing, since it required a 45-minute drive through paradise to get there. Nothing is better for my heart than the rich colors of fall! I couldn't be happier about living in New England, where the trees are plenty and the colors oh-so vibrant.
Ellis was a saint and slept the entire time in the baby carrier. Henry enjoyed every detail of the outing: farm animals, the hay maze and hay mountain, riding the John Deere tractors, picking apples and pumpkins, drinking cider, and eating cider donuts (a new discovery for all of us!). Can you think of a better activity for an October Saturday?
To top it all off, Ben and I found yet another perfect town in which we could someday live (I think we're destined for a farm town), and lots of perfect houses. And I finally got to buy my hanging pot of MUMS! Aren't they lovely? This will be the test to see if I can make them stay alive. My first potted plant. :)

Looks like a perfect day! I adore the pick your own orchards out here, we're hoping to go to one tomorrow. I've heard about cider donuts but haven't come across them yet, we'll have to keep our eyes out for them-they sound delicious!
You're like an episode of Gilmore Girls...New England calls to me. In other world news, Layton got six inches of snow.
Oh isn't Fall WONDERFUL?!? We enjoyed driving this weekend too with all the bright beautiful leaves. I went to a mini-farm with Olivia and just loved it. I want to take Brandon and go to another full-scale orchard soon - I too have heard of the magic of cider donuts but haven't yet partaken. Hopefully soon!

I want to move to New England too . . . we're going to the local pumpkin patch, and we typically SWEAT to death as we play on bounce houses, etc. to entertain ourselves since there are no crisp apples to pick and enjoy! I'm jealous!
I am so jealous!! We woke up to snow here and it was so sad. Hopefully it will melt and we will get a fall! Enjoy it for me ok!!
