Making Whoopie!

Announcement: I just discovered the dessert recipe of the year: Pumpkin Whoopie Pies! I cannot even begin to describe them to you. Look at the picture; look at Ellis' delighted expression; go get the ingredients; make them today. You will not be disappointed.

So . . . one would think that a weight goal like this one ["Try to only gain 1 pound per week"] would not be that hard to stay on top of. Let's just say that all of the wonderful fall foods are getting the best of me. Cider donuts, all the yummy pumpkin and apple treats . . . aah! There is still a half bushel of apples sitting on my counter waiting to be turned into pies, dumplings, and crisps. I need like 10 people to come live with me and help me eat all that I desire to bake. Anyone?

Oh, remember when we were roommates and we made all those delicious apple recipes from baskets of apples? I should move in again!

Oh pick us! We love living with you guys. It would be a pretty easy transition, don't you think? We have done it for a week before, and I love your cooking:).I want to try those this very week, I have actually been craving pumpkin cookies lately.

I made pumpkin whoopie pies just last week! What are the chances?! I used a recipe from marthastewart.com and they were DIVINE! Dave and I ate the entire batch in two days, so we know we can't make those again for a long time or we'll be packing on the pounds!

I saw your blog today and made them tonight for a cake auction to support the boy scouts in our ward. Thanks for the idea. They brought a pretty penny at the auction. We had a ton of the frosting left over...and consequently I am now feeling a little sick to my stomache. Ah well.

My mouth is watering, but would you believe, canned pumpkin is not to be had in Scotland. I was actually asked by a senior sister missionary to bring a can over with me in my suitcase (big sacrifice when I was packing for 18 months in 2 bags) when I came last November so that they could have pumpkin pie once during their mission. This delicious recipe will have to wait until I get back to Utah. But thanks Jenn for all of your fun recipe ideas.

I just discovered the dessert of the year last night. Blue Bell spiced pumpkin pecan ice cream. Oh my! If you have Blue Bell ice cream where you live you MUST try it. I've tried just about every pumpkin ice cream (and dessert) out there and this stuff is the best! I have not made pumpkin whoopie pies yet, but I'm going to!! Can't wait.
